First Day at the Pool!

We took Brian to Five Seasons today to relax by the kiddie pool.  We kept him in the shade for the majority of the time, but we did dip his feet into the pool... which was so cute! He really liked it. :)  He got maybe 2-3 minutes of pool time, which was plenty.  Just enough to get his feet wet!  I am excited for the day we can actually let him play in the water!! He's just too little right now. Still made for a fun afternoon, though!!  Alissa and Gentry joined us, and it was fun to see Gentry playing in the water!  Many more pool days to come!

Visiting Daddy at Work :)

Today we visited Daddy at work. :)  We ate lunch with him and it was a lot of fun!  It was Brian's first time at P&G and it was really great seeing Vahe and friends .... I mean, who doesn't like to show off their baby?!? LOL  Brian got to meet a lot of people, including daddy's work group. Vahe was such a proud daddy, it was adorable!  Everyone was gushing over Brian... which I think was a bit overwhelming for him. He was great for most of the time, but 1) he had enough and 2) he was hungry so he threw a massive fit! It was hilarious.  His fit interrupted everyone's work, meetings and conference calls.  Oh well, what are you going to do, right?  We fed him in one of the conference rooms and then he was good to go.  It was a fun day and we can't wait to visit Daddy again soon!

P.S.  I am SHOCKED that P&G doesn't have a place to change a baby!!! Notice I had to change him on the floor... :)

First night in his "big boy" bed... aka the crib! :)

Laying in his crib for the first time before we rocked him to sleep. :)

Brian slept in his crib for the first time last night. It was very bittersweet for us.  We have loved having Brian in our room for the past three months, but we both knew it was time for him to move into his crib (plus, he's outgrowing his bassinet!!)  I was definitely a little nervous, but he did great!  We read him his "night night prayer" and rocked him to sleep. He slept the whole night!! Even though an insanely long and loud thunderstorm!  I, however, didn't sleep AT ALL! LOL  This is a big step, but a good one!! :)

Happy 3 Month Birthday!

Brian turned 3 months on 6/24/09!!  It is so hard to believe that 3 months have already gone by.  Where does the time go?!  All I know is that it's been the most amazing 3 months of our lives.  Brian is so awesome - exploring, learning new things, "talking", and letting his personality show more and more everyday.  He is so much fun. He is sleeping through the night (thank goodness!) and is just truly a joy. I can't wait to see what month 4 brings us!!

Happy Father's Day! :)

Vahe enjoyed his first Father's Day yesterday!! We had a great day!  I started off the day with breakfast in bed for Vahe  - french toast, fresh fruit and a mimosa and gave him his gifts.  He spent all morning with Brian just hanging out.  Then we went over to my parents house and had a really great time. I made stuffed shells (mom's recipe... but I wanted to learn how to make it!) and a chocolate cake for dessert.  It was really yummy... but we were so stuffed when we got home! Brian had a busy day... not much napping for the little guy, so he was pretty exhausted when we got home. He slept from 8:30 pm to 7:00 am! :)  It was nice celebrating with my dad and Vahe as a first-time dad.... two amazing fathers!  Happy Father's Day to you both!!!

Loving play time!

Brian's figuring out that he can grab his toys, which is so much fun to watch!!!!  He loves his bouncy, his playmat and taking walks with Mommy! :)

Just Saying "hey" :)

Don't mind the pink bib.... we got this before we knew we were having a boy and I never got rid of it!  A bib is a bib, right?! :)  Anyways, Brian just wanted to say "hi" to everyone... at least I think that's what he's saying! LOL

First Official Play Date!

With buddies Gentry and James
Brian clearly didn't want to take a group picture!
Best buds - Brian and Gentry :)
Thank goodness for the paci!

Brian's Baptism

Brian was baptized into the Catholic Church on Sunday, June 7th at St. Agnes Church.  It was a really special and wonderful weekend. We had all of our family and friends here to celebrate his big day and it was really great to see everyone!  Vahe's parents & sisters came into town on Friday to spend time with Brian. We had a nice time with them.  On Saturday, my whole family came in and we had everyone over at our house so that they could all meet/spend time with the little guy.  We had a great lunch and then the majority of us headed to the Cubs/Reds game downtown.  We had a blast!  Brian stayed home with Grammy and got some much-needed rest. He had an overwhelming day, but was about to be even more overwhelmed the next day!!

On Sunday morning, we got him up, fed him and TRIED to get him to nap (yeah right!!!!) and everyone met at the house before we went to the church.  Getting him dressed in his baptism outfit was really special. He wore the outfit that his Uncle Brian wore for his baptism.  It was emotional, but very very special.  He wore the baby pin that I wore on my baptism, given to me by my Grandma Howell.  He also had Uncle Brian's rosary that was blessed by the Pope.  To top it off, he was wrapped (only for a short time... it was HOT!) in the blanket worn by Uncle Brian, me, Katie, and Connor for our baptisms.

It was a really hot day - mid 80's - and of course the AC in the church broke... so it was super  hot inside.  Thank goodness there was only one other child being baptized that day!  We stood with Brian's Godparents, Bridget and Phil, at the front of the church and both of our families watched as Brian was blessed and baptized. It was really special. I was so proud of Brian... he was perfect the entire time we were in church!  Thank goodness for pacifiers!! HAHAHA.

After the baptism, we went back to our house for a really fun party.  We had wonderful food, great weather (it DID eventually cool off) and had a great time hanging out with everyone.  Bridget &  Todd toasted Brian with a bourbon shot, which was really nice.  What a great tradition.  Brian was a trooper, even though he was exhausted.  He loved meeting all of his family and is so thankful they were all there to celebrate his special day.  :)
